Sophie Scolnik-Brower

New England Conservatory, Harvard educated piano teacher. International teaching experience. I'll make learning piano fun!
Teaching Philosophy

My students always have fun! I'll work WITH you rather than tell you what to do. Even if you're a beginner, I'll start you with some fun, easy, real pieces of music right away. I'll give you a choice about what to play to guarantee that YOU like it. I'm kind and understanding, but firm enough that you'll reach your goals and see improvement. Message me if you'd like to schedule a lesson and I'll add the time we decide on to my schedule.

Experience

My education from Harvard and the New England Conservatory, where I studied performance and theory from renowned musicians, helped me become an effective pianist and teacher. I am an extensive performer (playing across the country and Europe), but teaching is my true passion. I spent the past two summers teaching piano in Haiti, and the past year at competitive Concord Academy prep school and elementary school in inner-city Boston.
