Sophia Potter

Professional cellist and chamber musician with a passion for bringing classical music education to everyone
Teaching Philosophy

Learning to play an instrument is an integral part of learning to appreciate and enjoy classical music on a deeper level. I believe it is important that my cello students not only learn about the technical aspects of playing, but also the reasons why those techniques developed and their importance. A musical education should be accessible to everyone, not just those who live in areas where teachers are plentiful.

Experience

Currently teach 6 private students in the Omaha, NE area ranging in age from 12 years to adult. I have previously taught students as young as 6 years old. Additionally, I am an active performer in the area and run a professional chamber music ensemble that regularly engages in music education and outreach.
