Teaching Philosophy

Music learning is a life-long journey, and it comes in seasons. Each student is unique, and requires a customized approach informed by the student's learning type. No one approach is the end-all. All students are capable of reaching their next milestone if they possess sufficient motivation.

Experience

Professor Shu has toured nationally as a performer, producer, clinician, and adjudicator. His background includes choral and orchestral conducting, composing, arranging, producing, and film scoring in multiple genres, as well as studio production. Prof. Shu has been an Undergraduate Professor since 1999; Professional performance since 1990; Community music educator since 1990.
