Lydia Roth

A Curtis flute student with a passion for music and a love of teaching.
Teaching Philosophy

I emphasize the importance of fundamentals for students of all levels as the surest way to grow. I also believe that each student is unique, and will tailor my teaching to match each student's interests and learning style.
Methods of communication include both explanation and personal demonstration. In addition to working on repertoire, I address effective practice, audition preparation, memorization, performance anxiety, and more.

Experience

I have taught privately since 2012. I also worked as an Artist Teacher during Curtis Summerfest 2014, where I coached several flute ensembles.
Venues where I have performed include Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall), Field Concert Hall (Curtis Institute), and more.
Awards I have won include YoungArts, Alexander & Buono, Michigan Youth Arts, and more.
See lydiaroth.instantencore.com for a full bio.

Credentials

I am currently pursuing bachelor's degree on a full-tuition scholarship from the Curtis Institute of Music. I am a student of Jeffrey Khaner.
Masterclasses or single lessons with Jeanne Baxtresser, Joshua Smith, Mark Sparks, Carol Wincenc, and others.
