Heather Anderson

I have studied piano for 32 years and taught privately for 10 years. I have coached voice students and taught choirs of all levels for twelve years.
Teaching Philosophy

If you can brush your teeth and tie your shoes, you are capable of learning how to play an instrument and sing. I tailor my teaching methods to how the student learns best, whether it is aural, visual, or kinesthetic.

Experience

I have been teaching piano for the past ten years. I have taught choir, music theory, conducting, and voice for twelve years. I have been a church music director and/or organist for the past sixteen years. I have accompanied for choral festivals in Va. I have performed for the MDA telethon, have been awarded special recognition by the Piano Teachers Guild and won regional and state Bland and 4-H competitions for solo piano performances.
