I teach all ability levels. Typically, lessons start with simple left & right hand exercises that develop independent finger control, strength and coordination. Later graduating into complete scales and arpeggios. Learning to tune the guitar is an ongoing study in ear training. I can help you learn classical, rock, or blues. I enjoy teaching all styles. When you take lessons with me, you'll receive a complete music education that includes reading music, rhythms, music theory, discovering the benefits of proper technique, and the development of musical interpretation.
Edward has an extensive musical background as a professional performer, instructor, composer, and recording artist. He has published several guitar methods and composed countless guitar technique studies designed to develop specific skills. Edward has created and taught guitar and music theory courses for colleges, music academies, and conservatories for over 25 years.
Edward is a graduate with honors from Marylhurst University. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Guitar Performance. Edward has studied and attended master classes with some of the nations leading guitar performers and professors such as David Tanenbaum, of the San Francisco Music Conservatory and Brian Wagner at Marylhurst University.
