Christopher Orlando

Established educator and saxophonist in the Philadelphia area.
Teaching Philosophy

I want to ensure a fun and welcoming environment for any student. Students should feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. That being said I give 100% effort and dedication to any student that I teach, so I expect the same from them during a lesson. I will do my best to make sure you are the best saxophonist you can be, and you should too. I focus on basic and advanced saxophone technique, musicality, and standard repertoire.

Experience

I studied with renown saxophonist, Marshall Taylor, while at Temple. I have performed with the Temple University Wind Ensemble, Temple University Wind Symphony, Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, Glassworks Ensemble, as a soloist, chamber musician, and am currently a member of the horn section for a Hip-Hop group, The Legion of DOOOM.

Credentials

I am a graduate of the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Music Education with a concentration in saxophone. I currently teach general, instrumental, and vocal music at a charter school in Philadelphia.

Affiliations

I am a member of the National Association for Music Education, Pennsylvania Music Educator’s Association, National Band Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Music Fraternity, Inc.
