Ben Britton

An award-winning saxophonist with ten years of experience teaching students and pros.
Teaching Philosophy

I teach students to become complete musicians. My students learn to understand the music they hear and how their contributions fit in. Not only do they learn to read music, they learn about the form of songs, which helps them to better perform their pieces. Students play their best when they love their sound, so I also focus on technique. Overall, my students learn to use their ears and musicianship to be the best musicians they can be.

Ben Britton has performed all over the U.S. He has taught privately for the past decade, and he has held adjunct positions at various colleges. He wrote two saxophone method books, which are endorsed by important saxophonists like Ben Wendel and Dave Liebman, and the books are used in college teaching. He has led two recordings, Uncertain Living, with world-renown saxophonist Chris Potter, and Children at Play, both warmly reviewed.
