Teaching Philosophy

As a teacher, I strive to give my students the knowledge and confidence to continue on their own path of learning. I had the opportunity to study with such great pedagogues as John Kendall and Peter Slowik, and their teaching has influenced me greatly. John Kendall, the man who brought Shinichi Suzuki to the US, taught through teaching his pupils how to practice. I continue to use his ideas on a regular basis. I also frequently use the exercises

Experience

Violist Anne Ristorcelli was born in Nevada, USA, and started playing music at the age of 8. Ms. Ristorcelli continued her studies at the Oberlin Conservatory, where her teachers included Peter Slowik, Karen Ritscher, and Jon Kendall. After obtaining her Bachelor of Music, Ms. Ristorcelli was awarded a teaching assistantship at the University of Colorado, where she completed her Masters degree under Erika Eckert, and Geraldine Walther of the Taka
