Andre Hayward

Jazz Trombonist | Jazz Educator | Entrepreneur
Teaching Philosophy

I'm here to coach, guide, and encourage but I can't teach you style. It's not for me to dictate one's musical direction.

My only requirements are committing to being a lifelong student of the fundamentals, mastery of your instrument, and thorough study of the lineage of this beautiful art.

It's impossible to tune in to your personal power and impact lives appeasing teachers and other musicians. Live your life. Self discovery is the end goal.

Experience

Former trombone professor at New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music, New York University, and New England Conservatory.

Former trombonist with the Duke/Mercer Ellington Orchestra, Illinois Jacquet Big Band, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and San Francisco Jazz Collective.

Credentials
