I enjoy helping students discover and capitalize on their natural abilities. I firmly believes that everyone has the potential to be great—greater than even they know. And it takes just four things to get there.
1) Discovering your natural abilities.
2) Hard work.
3) Technical knowledge.
4) Letting go.
The last one is the hardest, because it’s not something you can try to do. Like the Nike slogan goes, you just do it.
I have toured internationally and performed on stages in Europe, Turkey, South America, and the Dominican Republic. I have played in bands led by such notable musicians as seven-time Grammy nominee Michael Spiro, and lead trombonist of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, Brent Wallarab. I have been performing for over 15 years, and teaching for over 10.
After earning my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, I have since relocated to Austin, TX where I perform with some of the city’s top groups, including Wonderbitch, Erez, The Human Circuit, and my own band, Mamahawk.
