“Rachael was very patient and a good listener while I explained what I had tried so far with the violin. After our trial lesson I had no hesitation on deciding to continue lessons with her.”
“I’m a believer that first impression are everything, she really made a great one. She was very patient with me, understanding my intimidation with trying to learn an instrument at 22 years old. I learned a great amount in 30 minutes than I did in countless hours trying to learn on instructional videos. I will be seeing her again for my future lessons”
I was raised with the Suzuki method, and his philosophy influences all of my teaching. I believe that anything can be accomplished with focused repetition and a positive attitude from both teacher and student.
My students will usually finish Suzuki Book 1 in their first two years, and continue at a pace of 1book a year after that.
Students starting younger than 5yrs old tend to take 6 months - 1 year more to finish Suzuki Book 1.
I require a parent to be part of all lessons and practice for younger students. I also try to incorporate some game-like exercises to keep children interested throughout the lesson :)
I love teaching children, but I am also very interested in teaching older students.
It is never too late and rarely too early to learn the violin!
